Sunday School
Bible Study Ministry Bible study is weekly for all ages. There are caring, dedicated workers in the Preschool department for ages birth through Kindergarten, a busy Children's department, a very active Youth department and seven Adult classes - both men's, women's and co-ed.
Sunday School / Bible Study Classes Children - 4, 5, K As sunday school teachers we have an opportunity to help boys and girls apply the Bible and its truths to their lives. That God has a purpose for them. They are all made different and they all matter to God and are special to them. "Let the little children come unto me." We are able to teach them about God in a way they can understand and take home and use in their life and tell others about Sunday school, church, and God. An example is the month of February where people see Valentine's Day as the holiday but we are able to use it to show the children that God loves them.
Adult I - Special Needs I teach Adult I, special class in sunday school. Most of them can't read, those who do read about like first or second grades. Some people call them handicap, I call them special. I don't know who learns more, me from them or them from me. If we were all as loving and caring for each other as they are what a wonderful world this would be. Each of them have accepted Jesus as their savior. I feel so privileged to be in that class. Adult II - Coed 55+ We strive to learn, obey and support the admonition in God's word, the Holy Bible, by sunday school studies and fellowship with one another. We invite all persons 55 years and up to join us in our journey through life in the spirit of God's Presence.
Lamplighters - Women 55+ Lamplighters is a Bible study class for women age 55 plus. We meet once a week on Sundays at 9:45 am. We have learners guides for each person to read and study. You are encouraged to comment and ask questions. Visitors are always welcome. 2 Timothy 2:15 - Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Survivors - Men 50+ The age group for the men's Bible class starts at 50 and any thing above! At present we are following the Explore The Bible series and studying one Bible book at a time. The series is printed by Life Way and produced by Southern Baptist. Quarterlies are provided for each member; they give an overview of the lesson and two Bible translations of the text to be studied.
The teacher is given the Adult Leader's Guide as well as a copy of the (pupils) Learner's guide. He is responsible to lead in the class discussion and encourages the members to participate. He is alerted when a member is absent and should contact that person within the following week to determine if he has a problem. He invites his class members to call him if they have a problem or need help with the lesson. He spends time studying and praying for each member. Bible Study Ministry This is a time to study the scriptures, in a small group setting to allow friendships and caring bonds to be formed, to enable us to grow in our knowledge of God, Jesus, and to discover His direction for our lives. Our primary resource for Sunday School is the Bible, a quarterly book - Exploring the Bible is used to aid in discussion for the adults. The Youth are using DVD format - FLOOD. Both are produced by Lifeway (the main publisher for Southern Baptist literature.) We meet every Sunday morning from 9:45 to 10:50 AM. Everyone is welcome to join us.
